What are Default Values for Additional Fields?
Default Values are predefined values assigned to additional fields at the workspace level.
When importing leads:
If a field is not mapped or left empty, the default value is automatically applied
If the lead already contains a value, that value will override the default
Why is this useful?
Prevents missing or blank personalization fields
Saves time during lead import
Ensures consistency across campaigns
Reduces manual data preparation
Step by Step Approach:
Go to settings -> Additional Fields -> Add New Field
Create an Additional Field (e.g: coupon_code, industry, region) and assign a Default Value at the workspace level
Import your leads to the campaign:
Empty field -> default value is used
Field with value -> original value is retained
Use Case Example: Coupon Codes
Scenario
You are running a campaign offering a discount to all leads.
Workspace Default Value:
coupon_code = WELCOME10
During Lead Import
Regular leads (no coupon provided) -> automatically get WELCOME10
VIP leads (with custom value in CSV, e.g., VIP50) -> receive VIP50
Result
Standard leads receive: “Use code WELCOME10”
VIP leads receive: “Use code VIP50”
NOTE: Workspace Default Values for additional field apply across the entire workspace, meaning the default value can be used for that field in all campaigns and lead imports unless a specific value is provided for a lead.
