Use Email Placement Tests to check where your emails land.
Inbox. Promotions. Spam.

Create a New Placement Test

Where to start

  • Go to Email Placement from the left sidebar

  • Click + New Placement Test

Setup

  • Enter a Test Name and click on Continue

2. Select Recipient Providers (Seed Inboxes)

This step defines where test emails are delivered.

Available providers

Professional inboxes

  • Google (Workspace)

  • Microsoft (365 / Outlook)

Personal inboxes

  • Personal Gmail

Configuration

  • Choose any combination of providers

  • Send up to 4 test emails per provider

  • Keep numbers low

Important Notes:
Sending too many test emails can affect the sender's reputation

Seed inboxes are neutral (No opens. No replies. No interactions.)

At the bottom, review:

  • Total test emails per sender account

3. Placement Settings

This controls how and when test emails are sent.

Sending mode

AI-Optimised Sending (recommended)

  • Emails are spread across the day

  • Mimics natural sending

  • Reduces spam signals

Sequential Sending

  • Sends one email every set interval

  • Slower

  • Useful for controlled tests

Schedule settings

You can:

  • Start immediately (leave start date empty)

  • Run indefinitely (leave end date empty)

  • Or set a fixed schedule

You can configure:

  • Weekly frequency

  • Specific days

  • Timezone

  • Start and end time window

Best practice
Match test timing with your real campaign hours.

4. Sending Email Accounts

This step defines which inboxes send the test.

Manual selection

  • Select specific email accounts

  • Best for known or representative inboxes

Random selection (recommended at scale)

Randomly select accounts by:

  • Tags

  • Provider (Google / Microsoft)

  • Domain

PlusVibe will:

  • Combine manual and random selections

  • Show total selected accounts

  • Calculate credits required

Important

  • Do not test every sender account

  • Recommended sample size: 3–5% of inboxes

  • Over-testing can cause content fatigue and reputation issues

5. Email Content & Launch

This controls what content is sent.

Content options

Existing Campaign (recommended)

  • Uses real campaign content

  • Supports full personalization

Write Manually

  • Create custom test content

Content randomization

  • Enable Randomise campaign content

  • Prevents repeated identical emails

  • Reduces content-based spam signals

Variable handling

  • First lead’s data auto-fills variables

Start the test

  • Review all selections

  • Click Start Placement Test

Emails are sent as scheduled.
Placement results are tracked automatically.
